I create handmade botanical sculptures cast from real leaves - an object both ordinary and extraordinary.
Using a custom stone blend, each piece captures the intricate details of the natural world—veins, edges, and subtle textures preserved in enduring form. These sculptures are not just impressions of plants, but reflections of a deeper connection to nature and craft.
Across cultures and throughout history, trees and plants have carried deep symbolic meaning: representing growth, resilience, transformation, memory, and connection to the sacred. My work is rooted in this enduring human reverence for the natural world. Through sculpture, I seek to honor not only the physical beauty of botanical forms, but also the quiet presence and significance they hold in our lives.
Inspired by nature. Crafted by hand.
Tania’s botanical sculptures begin with a living leaf, carefully selected and used to create an original concrete form. From this original, she makes a silicone rubber mold capturing the intricate shape, contour, and texture of the leaf.
